American Lung Association and Presidential Towers to Host North America’s Greatest Urban Stair Climb Challenge
Sunday, March 28 test your lungs in climbing 2,340 “fund-raising” steps at Presidential Towers

WHO: 850+ Climbers from all across Chicago Land, lung cancer patients, children and adults with asthma, smokers and former smokers, families who are struggling with or have lost loved ones to lung disease.

WHY: Last year marked the first time American Lung Association held the Fight for Air Climb at Presidential Towers, a climb that had 600 participants and raised more than $140,000. This year, as popularity has grown and with more climbers, the Association hopes to raise over $170,000 during the stair climb event to promote healthy lungs and healthy air in Chicago Land.
DETAILS: “Lung cancer is the number one cancer killer of men and women in the United States,” said Harold Wimmer, President and CEO of the American Lung Association in Greater Chicago. “We hope this event creates greater awareness of the disease’s prevalence and raises the valuable funds needed to help Chicagoans prevent and fight lung cancer and other lung diseases. Last year’s event raised over $140,000 to help Chicago residents fight the diseases and poisons harming the lungs of our families and communities.”
